Biography


 

Gabriele Seidel-Hell was born in Munich and took her first piano lessons at the age of seven.

For several times she was prize winner in different youth competitions. At the age of 12 her first CD recordings were published.

After graduating from high school in Germany, she studied music at the "Hochschule für Musik"  in Munich with Hugo Steurer and Klaus Schilde. 

Scholarships from the "Deutsche Studienstiftung" and the "Rotary Foundation" enabled her to study with Hans Graf at the "Hochschule für Musik" in Vienna and at the "Cité internationale des Arts" in Paris.

Her studies were especially influenced and inspired by working together with Wolfgang Sawallisch, Peter Feuchtwanger and Wilhelm Kempff.

Due to a recommandation by Wolfgang Sawallisch she was participant in a Beethoven masterclass with Wilhelm Kempff in Positano.

 

 

Gabriele Seidel Hell is winner of the following international competitions:

 

Schubert-Wettbewerb in Dortmund

Mozart-Wettbewerb in Salzburg

 

Together with many famous orchestras she played almost all the classical and romantic concerts for piano players. Gabriele Seidel-Hell has repeatedly performed Mozart's and Schubert's complete sonata cycles. She was a soloist with renowned orchestras (e.g. NDR, Münchener Symphoniker) and has made a number of recordings for German Radio and TV-Stations.

 

During the last few years she has started playing more chamber music and accompanying singers. Gabriele Seidel-Hell has performed  with Ingolf Turban (violinist), the members of the "Satori - Ensemble" and the singers Susanne Bernhard (soprano) and Bernhard Schneider (tenor).

 

Gabriele Seidel-Hell teaches at the "Hochschule für Musik und Theater" in Munich.
